I'm very proud of the products I sell here. I started making parts in the garage for my own bike that I couldn't find anywhere else. Friends liked what I was making and wanted parts for their bikes, and on it went. I don't make the parts in my garage anymore, but they're still made by the hands of real people right here in Cincinnati.
Mike and his crew at Hydro Cut make the air cleaner covers. When I started looking for someone to cut the first dozen, no one would do business with me because the quantity was too small. Mike agreed to help, and even worked with me in picking better materials. My orders are far bigger now than back in '04, but Mike still does the work. Even if I could get a better price I wouldn't go anywhere else. Tom at Carlisle and Finch does all the polishing. He's been polishing all types of metal for over 20 years. If it can shine, Tom can polish it. Greg at Spitfire Customs does all the powder coating. He and his twin brother are firemen who started coating as a hobby business a few years back. It's grown to full time, and they've done such a good job that now they do frames for Sucker Punch Sally and parts for Roush Racing. Gary and his dad Ernie do the choke knobs, banjo bolt covers, and mounting bolts. Ernie is 85 years old, and still sharp as a tack. He drills and taps every knob and bolt cover one at a time by hand on an old drill press. Gary cuts and chamfers the bolts. These guys have been machining the old school way since before it was old school! I design all the t-shirts, and print them one at a time by hand. All the emails and phone calls are answered by me personally. I also polish every part with a diaper before packaging it and shipping it to you. In fact, if you order an air cleaner cover, you'll probably find some diaper fuzz stuck in the mounting hole. Thanks for taking the time to check out Lucky Dog. I hope I can ship something out to you! |
